Fashion Show Review: Prada’s Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Prada’s Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection reveals to us, fun and quirky prints, a little bit of the color-blocking trend, and garments with warm and dark hues for a well-balanced show.

While vintage cars from the 50’s were the theme of Miuccia Prada’s printed garments, the cut and the styling of these pieces were also taken back to that era.

Elasticized garments such as bandus and  straight skirts were added in her line for comfort, for the effortless but sexy woman on the go.

While A-line skirts and sheer tops in warm and dark hues conveyed a message of authority and power for the strong and sophisticated woman within each of us.

Pleated color-blocking dresses turned the volume back up by adding fun and boldness, making the color-blocking trend easier to achieve.

As if the car print was not enough, flames made their way up these ladies dresses, with a print not so expected.

Bonus!

If you couldn’t get enough of the unconventional car printed dresses in this collection, Modcloth’s Let’s Go for a Drive-in Dress is a great alternative to Prada’s Car Printed Dress.
