This month I have been solely focusing on what I will need for a well-rounded Fall wardrobe. Outerwear pieces, printed skirts, a basic yet durable pair of boots, chunky jewelry and Phillip Lim’s famous comic book-inspired clutch.
I have been scouring the web for a denim vest for about three weeks now, and to this day I still have no luck. So I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands by revamping my thrifted denim jacket I purchased from Goodwill about a year ago (why didn’t I think of this sooner?),when I’m done it should resemble the denim vest shown above. A denim vest as well as a denim jacket is a staple to one’s wardrobe, and by incorporating denim pieces into my wardrobe, I’ll be able to dress down my look for a more casual and edgier touch. Now when it comes to owning the right leather jacket—fitted to perfection and simple detailing like this All Saints one, I can’t help but lust.
Fabulous Deal: Yesterday I purchased a Faded Glory denim jacket for only $14.88 at Walmart, to replace the one that I reconstructed (pics coming soon).
I have been obsessed with prints for as long as I could remember, their fun, bold, and can spice up any look. I have been eyeing this red and blue floral printed Kenzo skirt (middle) lately, it’s a fun take on wearing floral prints in the Fall and Winter, and the studded detail along the sides of the skirt adds interesting detail. Marni’s cotton-blend brocade skirt (third) on the other hand adds a more elegant and feminine touch, I can see myself wearing this with a fitted plum purple blouse, and gold-cap toe pumps for a sophisticated yet effortless look.
Leather (or faux) is always a staple this season, and for me it’s the hardest thing to shop for (faux leather that is). You have to make sure the material isn’t shiny, because it can come off as cheap, and the fit has to be dead on. This leather skirt by Jason Wu is missing a place called home (coughs), how about my closet.
My obsession with Doc Martens is by far the sickest obsession I have ever had, there are so many styles, so many colors and prints, what’s not to love? But for now I’m just focusing on a basic pair of black boots—versatility is a must! Owning a statement necklace is also a Must-Have for Fall, and the chunkier the jewelry, the more I want it, take this Dolce and Gabbana’s glass and pearl statement necklace for example, it’s mouthwatering and I’m craving it like crazy—the price on the other hand is a little distasteful.
