Runway Review: Erdem’s Pre-Fall and Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Two reviews in one? These collections must be the bomb—you bet they are!

I honestly fell in love with both collections, not knowing I had. While I was on Net-a-Porter gawking over the pieces Erdem had in stock, I noticed a differentiation between some of the garments—the color scheme, and realized that they had to be part of two collections because it wasn’t cohesive—and boy was I right!

Pre-Fall Collection

I love how Erdem gradually transitions over to Fall with Autumn’s favored hues—orange, blue, and canary yellow, taking a more gentle approach with the color palette.

Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Erdem’s take on wearing floral prints in the Fall and Winter was impeccably executed, this collection was for the woman who was feminine yet who had a bit of an edge.  His usage of dark and bright hues blended well together on the garments, creating looks that were wearable for the everyday woman—without having her resemble a character out of a William Shakespeare play. The structure of his garments were timeless and sexy, allowing you to wear them throughout the year. Long story review short, this collection is amazing. Applique lace, floral prints, and leather—What more can a woman ask for? Seriously.

  1. I see what you mean by the difference of thw two collections. I appreciate the gentle and seasonal look of Pre-Fall but I love the ready-to-wear collection a bit more. The rich colors and floral prints are to die for.
